Trim Levels

The Ford Bronco Sport is produced in four trim levels:

  • Base
  • Big Bend
  • Outer Banks
  • Badlands

The four trims of the Ford Bronco Sport have distinctive features and amenities. The base model of the Bronco Sport features a stylish and rugged exterior with roof rails for extra storage capacity, LED headlights, and 17-inch wheels. The Bronco Sport also has a functional rear liftgate with a window and integrated lighting.

Next is the Big Bend model, which adds some more luxury features to the interior and a few additional external components. Heated side mirrors are a notable addition to the Big Bend, and it also has tinted windows. An available package for this model includes LED fog lights, a wireless phone charging pad, a garage door opener, and a leather steering wheel.

Following the Big Bend is the Outer Banks. This trim has larger standard 18-inch wheels and rain-sensing wipers. LED fog lights are standard. The Outer Banks adds some more luxury components, including leather seats and heated front seats. Interior ambient lighting is another standard amenity with the Outer Banks.

The Badlands model is the most off-road oriented of the four. The Badlands comes with tow hooks in front, upgraded four-wheel drive, underbody skid plates, an off-road suspension, and all-terrain tires. It also has enhanced performance with more driving modes.

You can get one of two engines with the Ford Bronco Sport based on the trim that you want. The first three come with a turbo 1.5L engine with three cylinders. They all have an identical power output of 181 horsepower and a maximum of 190 pound-feet of torque.

If you get the Badlands, you'll get a stronger turbo engine with four cylinders and a 2.0L displacement. This engine has a greater power output of 250 horsepower and close to 280 pound-feet of torque. An automatic transmission is standard with this engine, and its standard drivetrain is all-wheel drive. With a towing package included, the Bronco Sport can pull up to 2,200 pounds.

Safety and Technology

While the Bronco Sport might initially stand out as a sturdy and capable SUV, it has all the technology and safety equipment necessary for a safe and connected ride. The Bronco Sport has lane-keeping assist, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. Parking sensors get added if you get the Convenience Package with the Big Bend trim and higher. With the top Badlands trim comes more safety features, including trail control and a forward-facing camera with a 180-degree view.

The Bronco Sport has a retro design with a boxy frame on the outside and an interior that ranges from basic and functional to luxurious. There are many storage solutions inside and outside. The exterior is also designed with useful components such as tow hooks and skid plates that make driving off-road easier.

Inside, the Ford has a large storage capacity in the trunk, including a load floor with a relatively low height and a tall ceiling to help store larger objects. Extra storage space under the seats is available with some models as well, and the seats range from cloth to leather upholstery.
